Radon Testing
Service Description
Radon is a naturally occurring gas that can be found in many areas across the world, including Alberta, Canada. In fact, according to Health Canada, elevated radon levels have been found in 1 in 6 homes across the country, and Alberta has been identified as a high-risk radon zone. Radon is a health hazard, and long-term exposure to high levels of radon increases the risk of developing lung cancer, especially for smokers. Therefore, testing for radon is essential to ensure the safety of the indoor air quality in your home or workplace. The Government of Alberta recommends that all homeowners test their homes for radon, especially if they are in high-risk areas. The Canadian guideline for radon is 200 becquerels per cubic meter (Bq/m³). If the radon level in your home exceeds this guideline, the Government of Alberta recommends taking action to reduce the radon levels to reduce your health risk.
